ZENITH Cal. 10.1

While this movement proudly bears the ZENITH name and powered Movado-ZENITH dress watches during the early 1970s, its origins lie elsewhere. The calibre is a product of Universal Genève’s pioneering work in microrotor technology.

Universal Genève was one of the first manufacturers to successfully industrialise the microrotor concept. Introduced in the late 1950s, its innovative automatic movements integrated a small, recessed winding rotor directly into the plane of the movement. The result was an exceptionally slim automatic calibre without sacrificing reliability or winding efficiency. A remarkable engineering achievement for its era.
